NURTW vice-chairman arrested for abducting and raping a woman in Oyo State.

Residents of Gbagi in Oyo state were relieved following the arrest of one of the notorious rapist in their area. The culprit whose name is Alhaji Saheed Tijani aka Omo Olomo and also the vice
chairman of the National Union Of Road Transport Workers of Gbagi branch in Oyo state was arrested yesterday for allegedly abducting and raping a 28 year old woman.

National Union Of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) is a Nigerian organisation that fulfills functions of a public transport company, street gang, and a transport worker's union.  Tijani and his gangs under this organization terrorized innocent citizens by raping young women in the area. His illicit sexual escapade was known to many, but the victims could not report due to stigmatization and fear of being attack again.

Tijani and his cohorts allegedly abducted the victim, Abosede, around 9 pm on Monday, April 4, 2016, while returning home from work. The state Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, disclosed Abosede was subdued by the men who threatened her ‎with a knife.


He went on to say: “Having successfully threatened her to submission, she was abducted in the most brazen, commando-like manner and forcibly taken to a hotel where she was drugged and subsequently mercilessly raped till the next day. Tijani has since confessed to the crime and is being kept in custody.
