Female kidnapper disguised as a mad woman caught!

A suspected female kidnapper narrowly escaped being lynched yesterday when she was caught at Aka Road, Okokomaiko, Lagos and she later confessed to being part of a 27-woman syndicate from

Benin Republic, A disused tire had been put around her neck and was about to set her ablaze when some policemen from the Okokomaiko division rescued her.

It was gathered that the lady was usually seen around the area behaving like a lunatic, but became ‘sane’ when she was apprehended yesterday morning trying to abduct a child. The missing child count in Okokomaiko and its environs, in the last two months, is about 7.

She claimed they were 27 women that came as a syndicate from Benin Republic. Each woman was given 5 phones to contact their buyers once they have gotten the targets, mainly little children, were targeted. They discard the phone after transactions to avoid been traced. The abduction is for outright sale, not for a ransom.” 

According to residents, they said more than seven children had been missing in the past two months in the area while most of their abductors which were mainly women have been caught in recent times and always rescued and whisked away by the police with no outcome of further investigations.

Meanwhile, the police public relations officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the suspect was mentally unstable adding that sha had been transferred to the state department of criminal investigations.
