Nine people have been feared dead in Ghana stampede towards
the end of Ramadan festivities. The incident took place at a party at Asawase
Community Center, Kumasi, Ghana, in the early hours of
today. Six of the dead casualties were females while
the remaining three were males.
Survivors at the
Ghana stampede had told police that the incident happened after an apparent
dispute between two DJs who were performing at the same time and the lights were
turned off to try to calm the situation. The people panicked at the scenario and
tried to leave which had resulted in their deaths.
