Fraudster tracked down for duping a victim of N1.2m!

Police operatives attached to Anti Kidnapping Unit of Zone 2 command, Onikan, Lagos tracked a suspect, Aghatise Davis Osasunmese, down while he was in Benin City, Edo state for allegedly
causing a recipient of money transfer to pay him N1.2m.

According to the spokesman of the Police Zonal Command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said Osasunmese, on 29th March, 2016, sent a mail to his victim, Iloka Ndubuisi, whose uncle, one Dr J.O.S. Okeke, based in the U.S, sent a sum of N5m through First Bank Nig. Plc.

He acted as Ndubuisi's uncle, and asked him to pay the sum of N500,000 into an account with U.B.A, on the 30th March, 2016, with a threat that if he didn’t, he would sue him to court for the money he was owing him, which he obliged without hesitation.

Ndubuisi claimed that he received another mail on the second day, with same threat, to pay another N700,000 to same account and obliged again. Osasunmese was eventually exposed on April, 4, 2016, when Ndubuisi received a call from one Chief Osifo, asking him to check his mail box for an instruction.

That was when it dawned on him that something was wrong, he called his uncle to confirm if he actually sent the mail, but to his surprise, the uncle said he never sent any mail to him. The matter was reported to the police and Osasunmese was tracked down at his hiding place and arrested.
