Turkey is observing a national day of mourning after a gun
and suicide bomb attack on Istanbul's Ataturk airport killed 41 people,
including 13 foreign nationals early Wednesday. According to
officials, 239
people were injured while 41 are still on intensive care.
Three bombers targeted the international terminal of the
airport, arrived in a taxi and began firing at the terminal entrance late on
Tuesday. They blew themselves up after police fired back. The attackers arrived in a taxi before the attack and there
was no lapse in airport security, according to Turkish Prime Minister Binali
Yildirim. CCTV video from the airport appears to show one of the attackers
detonating his vest after being shot.
The U.S. Embassy in Turkey has issued a travel warning for
the country.
Meanwhile, there has been no claim of the incident by any group.
