The Lagos taskforce has relieved the people of Aluminium Village, Dopemu in Agege, Lagos after it had arrested the notorious 'Awawaa boys' gang leader with other two others after reported cases of
rape, armed robbery and killings of innocent citizens by the gang became worrisome around the area.
Their gang leader, Tobi Akinbayo a.k.a (scorpion), 28 admitted that he and his boys raped, burgled and also killed innocent
citizens who confronted them during any of their operations. He added that they
forcefully raped one Rufia Ogunbowale the daughter of Taiwo Iyabo on the 5th of
May, 2016.
According to Rufia who was raped: “Scorpion threatened to
kill my mother if she dare report them to any security Agencies." Scorpion
said that ‘Awawaa Boys’ is one umbrella and that they only have branches at
different parts of the State and that he is the leader of the group that controls
Dopemu and its environs.
One of their victims, Mrs Adeye also narrated how the 'Awawaa boys' had used cutlass to cut off her finger when she had restricted them from entering her shop for their illegal activities being charged without any form of clearance from the government
