FG set to deploy special squad against kidnapping in Kogi state!


The federal government is set to deploy special military forces to tackle the issue of kidnapping in Kogi state. The chief of army staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai stated this in lokoja during a working visit
to Governor Yahaya Bello to take a look at the security challenges facing Kogi state. He kicks off the meeting by relaying the report he has received from the state.

''We have been receiving reports of frequent kidnapping incidents around this area, this calls for serious concern and this should be addressed immediately. I want to assure you that we will very soon deploy special force here in Kogi state''. he said

The governor points out the implication of leaving in his state that is disturbed by so many others, pointing out that Kogi state is under attack because of the terrain, the forest around there makes it a hiding place for the kidnappers to operate

The governor was delighted to receive the chief of army ideas of security support in the next few days. The governor urged the state to  co-operate  with the the federal authorities using the newly form of operation ''know your neighbor'' policy

''The federal government has come up with the policy of ''know your neighbor'', a situation where you will know who your neighbor is and his visitors, and any house or building that kidnappers or arm-robbers or hoodlums or cultist as the case may be, is nabbed, such building will come down and those neighbors will equally be invited for questioning.'' he stated

The state is set to deploy vigilante groups and get the help of local hunters to take the woods amongst them, with this approach, the people of Kogi state and the capitals in the region will soon breath a sight of relief.
