Chinese supermarket in Abuja explains why it banned Nigerians from shopping!

Some days back, a Nigeria man had raised alarm on the issue of the Chinese supermarket located in Gwarinpa Abuja restricting Nigerians from entering the supermarket. But now the management of the
supermarket has explained its reasons for denying Nigerians entering the store, saying Nigerians are not allowed to enter in group because of their despicable activities but can only go in at a time.

According to DailyTrust who visited the place, their reporters were also denied entry as the gateman, Maxwell, said they were more than one. “You can only be allowed in if you are accompanied by policemen, because you are more than one” he said.

One of the attendants, Samuel Azenda said the supermarket reached the decision after it was robbed by Nigerians in May, during which more than N2.5m was stolen. He said until May, the gate was always open to all and sundry. The owners of the supermarket were said to have been flown to China for medical treatment as a result of the injuries sustained during the robbery.

Azenda, who was beaten during the robbery said about five personnel were also beaten after a group of four armed men entered the premises in May. He said the case was reported at the Gwarinpa police station adding that the decision of the management to ban Nigerians from entering the supermarket was not geared to discriminate between tribe and colour.
