Policemen and others killed as MASSOB and police clashes in Asaba!

Two police men were reportedly killed while two other officers were thrown into the river in a clash that ensued with MASSOB members, they were celebrating biafra day and had gathered in Asaba and

was trying to get to Onitsha as well, four members of MASSOB were also killed, the

incident had occurred when the policemen tried to stop them from proceeding as they had planned.

According to eyewitness, the incident which occurred along Awai road in the city when MASSOB members were marching to demand for the independence of Biafra resulted in two officers killed, two thrown into the river.

The acting police public relations officer in Delta, SP Charles Muka who confirmed this in a statement, said the protesters turned violent and attacked the policemen deployed to monitor the protest.

A pregnant woman was also hit by a stray bullet but now receiving treatment at the federal medical centre, Asaba.
